From The Thomaston Times---Thursday, September 16, 1965:

Final Rites For Harvey L. Daniel, 58, At Roberta Saturday
Final rites for Harvey L. (Major) Daniel, 58, were held
Saturday at Mr. Carmel Primitive Baptist Church near
Roberta.  Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mr. Daniel, a former Upsonian, died after he was gored by
a bull Thursday night while at work on a Dublin farm.

Survivors include his wife; one son, James L. Daniel,
Dublin; one daughter, Mrs. Wanda Hancock, Fort Valley;
one brother, Robert T. Daniel, Cordele; three sisters,
Mrs. Romania Haney and Mrs Mary Slaughter, both of
Thomaston; Mrs. Lizzie Lou Sewell, Waycross; two
grandchildren also survive. Harvey Leonard DANIEL b. Apr.
20, 1907 d. Sept. 9, 1965 His parents buried at Shiloh
Baptist Church in Upson County, Georgia.  

He is the son of  Lizzie Henry DOWNS Daniel b. August 20,
1874 d. July 22,1945 and Lennie Edward DANIEL b. August
26, 1876 d. November 9, 1949 He was the husband of Laura
Maude SANDEFUR DANIEL.
