He was born in Monroe County. Dec. 29,1879, and while an infant moved to Upson County where he was raised. He gently fell asleep on the date above mentioned, making his stay on earth 36 years. He was taken with pneumonia and then grew worse. On Wednesday at four o'clock he quietly passed away where there is no more sickness, trails and sorrows into that land of love and happiness. Eugene was not a member of any church but his belief and faith was of the Primitive Baptist. He leaves a wife, five children, loving father, mother, brothers, sisters and lots of relatives and friends to mourn his departure. Oh, it is sad to part from our loved ones, but the good Lord knoweth best. His remains were laid to rest at Trice's cemetery there to await the coming of Jesus. We must try to be reconciled to God's will and wish not this Loved one back. We loved him, yes we love him, But Jesus loved him more, So He came down and took him To yonder shining shore. A dear one is gone, but not forgotten. Written by his loving sister Clyde Dumas Other- James Eugene Dumas 12/29/1879 - 4/19/1916
