J. M. Ellington Dead (widow) Mrs. Lucretia Rogers Ellington, widow of the late J.M. Ellington, died at the home of her son, W.S. Ellington, in Thomaston, Monday June 26, 1916, after an illness of ten weeks. The remains of the deceased were laid to rest in Glenwood cemetery Tuesday morning after a funeral service at the Methodist Church, the exercises being conducted by Rev. J.M. Tumlin. Mrs. Ellington was 75 years of age having born in Upson Co. Feb. 11, 1841. She was united in marriage to Joseph M. Ellington, June 18, 1861, who died July 21, 1915. She leaves nine children as follows: C.S. Ellington, W.S. , E. S. , E.R., F.M., J. H. , and L.C. Ellington, Mrs. Mattie Thompson, of Shellman, Mrs. Ella Shumate. Mrs. Ellington was a member of the Methodist church. To the members of the bereaved family the Times extends sympathy on the part of the people of the community.
