Friday, January 18, 1946. Mrs. Alice Ellington, age 79, died at home Wednesday afternoon, January 16, after several weeks illness. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at three o'clock from Grace Primitive Baptist Church, Rev. R. B. Brantley of Atlanta officiating. Interment was in Glenwood Cemetery. She is survived by five daughters; Miss Pearl Ellington, Mrs. A. V. Barron, Mrs. W. A. Franklin, Mrs. Emory Daniel, all of Thomaston; and Mrs. Alva Daniel, Yatesville, Ga., and four sons; Mr. C. B. Ellington, Thomaston; Mr. J. W. Ellington, Miami, Fla.; Mr. J. C. Ellington, Tallahassee, Fla.; Mr. Julian Ellington, Cocoa, Fla.; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. ALICE S. ADAMS ELLINGTON second child of Joseph & Mary Adams was born Wednesday, October 24, 1866 in Upson County, Georgia. She married Charlie Suggs Ellington in Talbot County, Georgia, Sunday, May 10, 1885. They were married by Elder Wilde C. Cleveland, OMG who was pastor of Good Hope Primitive Baptist Church Upson County, Georgia at that time. CHARLIE SUGGS ELLINGTON was a member of Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church. He was elected clerk April 9, 1922. He was ordained as Deacon September 5, 1923. Charlie Suggs and Alice S. Adams Ellington are buried in Glenwood Cemetery Upson County, Georgia, row 8, lot 6 on the west side of the cemetery.
