Mrs. Ethridge was a witness to the tragedy which she was unable to prevent. It was evident that he had planned to kill his wife also, as he had cut three shells for use in his single-barreled shotgun, it was stated, but his wife escaped. A melancholic condition resulting in bad health was ascribed as the cause of this tragedy. =========== Miss Agnes Ethridge, age 21, died suddenly at her residence in Silvertown late Saturday evening, September 17th, 1932. She leaves her mother, Mrs. George W. Ethridge of Silvertown and four brothers, Messers Hubert, Alton, Eugene and Emory Ethridge all of Thomaston, Ga., and her grandmother, Mrs. Margaret Ethridge of Macon, her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Sapp of Jeffersonville, Ga. The funeral and interment was held at Shiloh Sunday afternoon with Rev. Rufus Rogers and Rev. C. W. Bailey officiating. ============== Mr. George W. Ethridge, age 58, died suddenly at his residence in Silvertown late Saturday evening, September 17th, 1932. He leaves his widow who was Miss Charity Sapp before their marriage, four sons, Messers Hubert, Alton, Eugene and Emory Ethridge all of Thomaston, three sisters, Mrs. Hardy Bentley of Forsyth, Mrs. Will Dinkins of Thomaston and Mrs. Malissa Riley of Macon, Ga., two brothers, Messers Dock and L. C. Ethridge of Macon and his mother Mrs. Margaret Ethridge of Macon and seven grandcholdren. The funeral and interment was held at Shiloh sunday afternoon with Rev. Rufus Roges and Rev. C. W.
