Mr. Butler was a self employed heating and air conditioner repairman. HE WAS A VETERAN SERVING IN THE U.S. ARMY. Mr. Brumbelow was a member of the First Christian Church where he served as an Edler and Deacon, Chaplain of the Stewart House and the Benevolence Ministry at the First Christian Church. Mrs. Benfield was a music teacher and had been woman of the year. She helped organize the Upson Humane Society. She had been a newspaper writer. Shortley afterward, he and his wife, Hazel (also a Palmer graduate), sat and passed the Georgia Chiropractic Board and were issued a license to practice in the state. They began their careers together on Nov. 1, 1957. Dr. Cotney practiced in Thomaston for over 41 years, retiring in 1998. He was an active member of the Georgia Chiropractic Association and was awarded Lifetime Membership in 1995. He served in several positions, including vice-president and board of directors. He was a member of the American Chiropractic Association, the Palmer Alumni Association and a member and past chairman of the Upson County Democratic Party. Dr. Cotney was an active member of First Baptist Church of Thomaston since 1958 and a member of the builder's Sunday School Class. He and his wife Hazel had just celenbrated their 54th wedding anniversary on Jan. 29. He had often said his greatest achievement in life was his three children and their families. He was the owner and operator of Leon Neese Service Station and Garage for 26 years. Mr. Neese was a member of the First Baptist Church on the Square, the Pilot Sunday School Class, Lodge 544 of the Free and Accepted Masons and a former member of the Civitan club. Funeral services for Mr. Kenneth Dale NORMAN Jr., 36, of North Street, will be held Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003 at 7 p.m. in the Pasley-Fletcher Chapel. Mr. Norman died Monday, Feb. 17, 2003 at Upson Regional Medical Center. Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Norman was a native of Los Angeles, Calif. He was a welder at Newton-Crouch Co. in Griffin. Survivors include his wife, Ronda Norman of Milner; a daughter, Melissa Ann Norman of Thomaston; a son, Joseph Dale Norman of Thomaston; his mother, Pat Jameson of Thomaston; a brother, Kevin Norman of Northridge, Calif.; and his grandmother, Betty Soly of Thomaston. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Mae Prater PEARSON, 93, formerly of Culloden, will be held Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003 at 1 p.m. from the Orange Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Marvin O'neal and Rev. A.W. Motley officiating. Burial will follow in Jones Cemetery in Culloden. Mrs. Pearson died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003 at a local hospital in Detroit, Mi. Bentley and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Pearson is the sister of the late Reverend Oscar Prater. Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Charlie Mae Thomas of Atlanta; nieces, Mrs. Annie (James) Fairley of Atlanta and Mrs. Lessie Harris of Yatesville; nephews, Mr. Alfonso (Christine) Prater of Atlanta and Mr. James (Ella) Prater of Yatesville; a host of relatives and friends who will miss her. Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Mae ROBINSON, 89, of Meansville, will be held Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003 at 2 p.m. from the Fuller Chapel United Methodist Church in Zebulon with the Rev. Araminta Lett and Rev. Geraldine Collier officiating. Mrs. Robinson died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003 at the Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. Bentley and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include her son, Mr. Alvin R. Robinson of Atlanta; a niece, Ms. Christine Garland of Columbus, Ohio; nephew, James Richardson of Columbus, Ohio; a host of relatives and friends who will miss her.
