All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: LisaGraham32@aol.com Lisa Graham YOUNG WOMAN DIES IN BATHTUB HERE SUNDAY Miss Florrie Fowler, age 22, an employee of the Thomaston Bleachery offices, was found dead Sunday morning about 10:30 o'clock at the residence of her brother, Jesse W. Fowler. She had been Ill with influenza during the past week and it was thought that in her weakened condition she must have fainted and slumped into a position which submerged her head in the water. It was 20-30 minutes before members of the family were alarmed when their calls to her were not answered and the bathroom door was forced open. A Physician made every effort to revive her, but it was later evident that she must have been dead when removed from the tub. She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Fowler, of Woodbury; three sisters, Mrs. Alvis Gordy, Thomasville, Miss Mattie Fowler, Griffin and miss Elsie Fowler, Thomaston, and five brothers; Jesse W. and Aubrey C. of Thomaston, Marvin H. and G.E. Fowler of Woodbury, and Aldine Fowler, Lake Wales, Fla. Funeral services and interment were held at Union Hill Methodist Church, Raleigh, Ga., at 2:30 Monday afternoon. The sympathy of the community is extended to the bereaved ones in the tragic loss.
