James Alton (Fat) Jackson
Thomaston---James Alton (Fat) Jackson, age 71, of 330 West Main Street, died at 
the Upson County Hospital on Sunday, June 29.  Funeral services were held at 
the Pasley-Fletcher Chapel at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 30 with the Rev. L.E. 
Smith officiating.  Interment was in the Oakhill Cemetery in Griffin.   Pasley-
Fletcher Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Jackson was a native of Upson County.  He formerly ran Jackson's Grocery on 
Highway 74 East. He was a member of the Upson County Singing Convention and was 
also past president.  He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Walter O. Shaw of 
Thomaston, and a number of nieces and nephews.
