Fletcher dorothy010@ameritech.net August 6, 2004, 9:19 am Virginia Crilley Hometown Journal----September 1, 1982---Page 5A Final Rites for Obie Flournoy, 72 Funeral services for Obie Flournoy, 72, were held Friday, August 20 at 2 o'clock at the Chapel of Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home with Rev. Dean Hemphill and Rev. Rocky Culpepper officiating. Burial was in South View Cemetery. Mr. Flournoy died Wednesday, Aug. 18 at the Upson County Hospital. He resided at 461 North Main Street and was a retired employee of the Peerless Division of Thomaston Mills in 1975. He was a member of Clark's Chapel Baptist Church. Mr. Flournoy, a native of Meriwether County, resided in Thomaston for 35 years. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Irene Parker Flournoy, three daughters; Mrs. Frances Mallory, Junction City, Mrs. Sara Duvall, Schenectady, N.Y., Mrs. Margaret Allison, Douglasville, two sons; James Watts, Abilene, Kansas, Clyde Watts, Las Vegas, Neveda, one half-brother, V. M. Flournoy, Greenville, 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren also survive.
