J. Greene, one of the oldest residents of Pike and Upson Counties, died at the home of her sister, Mrs. W. A. Harp last Wednesday afternoon at six o'clock, after an illness extending over a period of several years. Mrs. Greene was a native of Pike County and was the second wife of Judge James W. Greene of Thomaston, who died shortly after their marriage. She was 82 years old and a life long member of the Methodist church. Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon at The Methodist Church at Zebulon with Rev. Mr. Burtz and Brooks officiating. She is survived by her sister, Mrs. W. A. Harp and several nieces & nephews.
