Fletcher dorothy010@ameritech.net June 4, 2005, 3:58 pm Virginia Crilley To The Memory of Mrs. G.W. Hall Aunt Nanie, as she was called, was near 76 years of age, having been born Nov. 17, 1835. Yet after she had lived so long, we still were so unwilling to say goodbye forever, for friendship ripens with age, so my love for her, as a friend, was deep and steadfast. Having known her since I was a little child yet at her death she was the same sweet consoling friend. But death is no respecter, God always takes for his the one that's most dear to our hearts, but in our hearts we have that sweet consolation our friend is with her God. She will be so sadly missed by us all and more especially by the humble writer for she was a bosom friend and to her dear campanion whom she ever was ready to help and cheer, she looked for his homecomings, as one of her happiest moments; with smiles on her wrinkled brow, we point him to the one who gave life to all, look above. No doubt but every thing has its cadence of despair and the world seems sad to you indeed since she is gone but her soul is sweetly resting above for she had fought the fight, kept the faith and there was laid up for her a crown of glory. For precious is in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints and truly she was his own; farewell, farewell but not forever there will be a glorious dawn and we all must live to meet on the resurection morn; good bye sweet friend I loved you in life and miss you so very much, and feel so unworthy to try to write this little piece but will with respect and love to your memory which will ever remain fresh; I feel I have lost almost a mother for you never was to tired to lend me a helping hand; my happiness you enjoyed, my sorrow was likewise shared by you. I remember that last time I ever talked with you how sweet you smiled when you said good bye you would come back next morning, but alas! God knew best and said come up higher to a brighter clime. One who loved her well. Mrs. M.S.F. File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ga/upson/obits/h/hall2605gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/gafiles/ File size: 2.5 Kb
