Effie James Hammock 
Mrs. Effie James Hammock, 63, of Meansville died Monday evening, Aug. 15, 1983 
at Upson County Hospital.
Funeral services were held Wenesday afternoon, Aug. 17 in the Chapel of Pasley-
Fletcher Funeral Home with the Rev. J.E. Jarrard officiating.  Pasley-Fletcher 
Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.  Interment was in Southview 
Cemetery.
a native of Bibb County, Mrs. Hammcok had been a resident of Upson County for 
50 years and was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, Mr. Johnny Hammock of Thomaston, her mother, Mrs. 
Ida Mae James of Thomaston, two sisters;  Mrs. Ruby Cobb, of Columbus, Mrs. 
Pearl Rowland of Fort Mitchell, Ala., and one brother, Mr. Jesse Lee James of 
Jacksonville, N.C.  One granddaughter and two great grandchildren also survive.
