MRS. E. J.  Hardy DEAD

Mrs. Martha Susan Hardy died last Saturday at the home of
her son, Mr. W. B. H. Hardy, near Thunder on Oct. 14,
1916. She had been ill for about a year having sustained
injuries in a fall from which she never recovered. 

Her remains were laid to rest at Hendrix Sunday, the
funeral  exercises being conducted by Rev. Mr. Carriker
and were attended by a large number of relatives and
friends.

Mrs. Hardy was a widow of the late E. J. Hardy and was 86
years of age. She was a member of the Missionary Baptist
church. The deceased leaves eight children, four sons and
four daughters, as follows: W. B.  H. Hardy, Thunder, J.
B. Hardy and CB Hardy of Cooledge, Mrs. Jane Davidson,
Mrs. Emma Mangham and Mr. S. E. Jones, of Upson Co, and
Mrs. Anna Belle Dumas, of Brent.

To the members of the bereaved family, the Times, on the
part of the people of Upson Co., extends sympathy, in
their hour of sorrow.
