MRS. W. T.  HOLMES OF CULLODEN
[June 26, 1925]

Mrs. W. T.  Holmes of Culloden (Monroe Co) died Saturday at her home
in Culloden after an illness of considerable length. Her
funeral and burial occurred Sunday at the Primitive
Baptist Church in Culloden.  The exercises were conducted
by Elder A. V.  Again, Pastor Culloden Primitive Baptist
Church, assisted by Elder W.W. Childs of Yatesville. The
body was laid to rest in Culloden Cemetery.

Mrs. Holmes had been in declining health for sometime and
the end was not unexpected. She was 57 years of age and
was a member of the Culloden Primitive Baptist Church.
She is survived by her Husband and five children, three
daughters, Mrs. Grady Woodall of Griffin,  Mrs. Homer
Lunsford and Miss Carolyn Holmes of Culloden, two sons,
Mr. Cleveland Holmes of Macon and Mr. Jewett Holmes of
Culloden. 

NOTES:
The Monroe County History book printed in 1979 lists a
grave for William T. Holmes  born March 3, 1867,  died
November 26, 1948,   Carrie Smith Holmes born September
15, 1865,  died June 26, 1925.  

The book, FAMILY HISTORIES OF MONROE COUNTY, GEORGIA
lists William Thomas Holmes, the son of J. O. and
Elizabeth Holmes, and wife Carrie Florence Smith as the
parents of:  Minnie Christine, Hazel Florence, William T.
Jr, Wilder Cleveland, Jewitt Smith, "Our Baby" and
Carolyn Kate Holmes.  

Since Carrie Florence Smith Holmes died June 25, 1925,  I
would think the date of the clipping would be the last of
June or the 1st of July, 1925 but I will look it up on
the microfilm of the Monroe Advertiser when I go to the
