On Sunday morning at six o'clock, Mr. Barney Jenkins died at the home of his son, Mr. W. L. Jenkins, after an illness of four days. Mr. Jenkins had been in feeble health since he first came to Thomaston about five years ago to make his home with his son, Mr. W. L. Jenkins, of the Jenkins Childs Co. but he was up and about on the streets everyday. Pneumonia is thought to have been the cause of Mr. Jenkins death. He was a member of the Antioch Methodist Church, near Thomaston for a number of years, and in fact was one of the oldest members of that Church. He was seventy three years old. The funeral services were conducted at the Shiloh Baptist church, Monday morning, By Rev. Douglas Lewis, who is pastor of Antioch church, assisted by Rev. H. R. Branham, of this city. The remains were interred at the Shiloh burial grounds. Only two children survive and a number of grandchildren.
