Phillip Thompson officiating. Burial followed in Southview Cemetery. Mrs. Alsobrooks died Friday, May 30, 2003 at Upson Regional Medical Center. Pasley- Fletcher Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Alsobrooks was a native of Perry, Ga. and had lived in Roberta and Butler. She moved to Upson County in 1926. A textile worker with 14 years service at B.F. Goodrich-Martha Mills, Mrs. Alsobrooks retired from Thomaston Mills with 33 years service. She was a member of Twin Oaks Baptist Church and taught Sunday School as well as Bible Study Programs. Survivors include her sons, Claud LeRoy Simpson of Panama City Beach, Fla., Albert Russell (Pete) Adams of Helen and Thomas J. (Tommy) Alsobrooks Jr. of Thomaston; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and several great-great- grandchildren. BOYT Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Sue Boyt, 73, of Deluxe Circle, were held Sunday, June 1, 2003 at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Coggins Funeral Home with the Rev. Dean Hemphill officiating. Burial followed in the New Hope Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Boyt died Saturday, May 31, 2003 at Upson Regional Medical Center. Coggins Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Boyt was born in Newton County, Ga. She had retired from the William Carter Co. where she worked as a seamstress. Mrs. Boyt was a member of Clark's Chapel Baptist Church. She was the widow of the late Mr. E.W. Boyt. Survivors include her son, Mr. Billy Livingston of Zebulon; daughters, Mrs. Mary Frances Allen, Mrs. Sue Ellerbee and Mrs. Brenda Joyce Fulcher, all of Thomaston; step-daughter, Mrs. Carole Crook of Thomaston; a brother, Mr. W.T. BROOKS Funeral services for Mrs. Nellie Harden Brooks, 81, of Doty Drive, were held Monday, June 2, 2003 at 2 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church with the Rev. Dusty Raines and the Rev. Jerome Stallings officiating. Burial followed in Upson Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Brooks died Friday, May 30, 2003 at The Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon. Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Brooks was born in Macon County in 1921. She moved with her family to Thomaston as a child and lived here most of her life. She retired from the Bleachery Division of Thomaston Mills with over 40 years of employment. Mrs. Brooks' father owned and operated the "Hole in the Wall" restaurant in Thomaston in the 1940's. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and had served as the church's WMU Director for many years. Survivors include her daughter, Peggy B. Wisham of Knoxville, Tenn.; a son, Robert E. "Bobby" Brooks of Thomaston; grandsons, Mark (Leigh) Wisham of Philadelphia, Tenn. and Jason (Amy) Wisham of Knoxville, Tenn.; great-granddaughters, Savannah Wisham of Philadelphia, Tenn. and Alexia Wisham and Isabella Wisham, both of Knoxville, Tenn.; great-grandsons, Eli Wisham of Philadelphia, Tenn. and Dylan White of Knoxville, Tenn. Mr. Carroll was a member of the Mason's and was a member of Emory's Chapel Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Lonnie Carroll Sr. and Mrs. Eva Mae Carroll. KASSACK Mr. Irving Calvin Kassack, 60, of Thomaston, died Thursday, June 5, 2003 at the Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. Mr. Kassack was born in Newport News, Va. on March 2, 1943 to the late Irving Kassack and the late Vivian Evans Kassack. He served four years in the United States Navy. Mr. Kassack retired from the Sonat Corporation in Thomaston after more than 20 years of service. He enjoyed traveling and gardening. Mr. Dickerson was a native of Taylor County and a resident of Upson County for 21 years. He was a retired maintenance worker at Meadows Motors in Manchester and was of the Baptist faith. He was a Past Grand Master of Stephens Lodge #568, Free and Accepted Masons, in Manchester. Mr. Dickerson was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener. Church where he served on the Steward Board and was treasurer of the Missionary Society. He was also a member of Progressive Lodge #419. Jimmie often traveled from church to church fellowshipping with others. He was a wise man who hungered and thirsted after God's word.
