King who died at his home in Sherman, Texas, on October 20, 1909. He was born in Upson County, Ga. April 22, 1834. On Nov. 22, 1853 he was married to Miss Jane C. Thornton, who survives him and had he lived until the 22 of Nov. they would have journeyed side by side for 56 years. Besides his wife he is survived by the following children: W.B. King of Houston, Mrs. A.J. Jernagin (Jernigan?)of Brown County, C.R. King of Fort Worth, L.G. King of Houston, Mrs. I.T. Akers, Sherman, Mrs. A.N. Chase of Los Angeles, Cal. Mr. King lived a few years in this county and has many friends and relatives here, who sympathize with the bereaved family.
