J. Grantland King
Tampa, Fla.---James Grantland King, age 42, died at his home in Tampa, Fla., 
last Saturday after a lengthy illness.  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Winkie 
Nesbitt King, two sons;  Grantland King and McGregor King, all of Tampa, Fla., 
mother, Mrs. Virginia D. McPeake and step-mother, Mrs. G.G. King, Jr., both of 
Thomaston, two sisters;  Mrs. Bill Hudson of Lewisville, Texas, and Kimi King 
of Thomaston, two brothers;  Hugh Thurston King of Thomaston, and Dwain McPeake 
of Forest Park and his paternal grandmother, Mrs. G.G. King, Sr., of 
Thomaston.  Funeral services were held Mondqay afternoon at St. John's Episopal 
Church of Tampa, Fla.
Mr. King was a 1953 graduate of R.E. Lee Institute, having attended R.E. Lee 
from the first grade.  He was a 1957 graduate of the University of Georgia and 
was in the insurance business in Tampa.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that contributions be made to the J. 
Grantland King Fund of the St. John's Episcopal Church in Tampa, Fla., or the 
Foundation Fund of the First Baptist in Thomaston.
