LAMBDIN DIES IN BARNESVILLE The friends of Mr. and J. M. Middlebrooks, Sr., are sympathizing with him in the death of his sister, Mrs. C. E. Lambdin in Barnesville last Thursday. Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Middlebrooks Lambdin, 81, beloved pioneer Barnesville woman, and widow of the late Charles Edwin Lambdin, founder of the Gordan Institute, were held at 10:30 o'clock Friday morning from the residence on Greenwood St. Mrs. Lambdin was born January 14, 1844, in Upson Co., a daughter of the Mr. and Mrs. James Madison Middlebrooks. Shortly after her marriage in 1866, she moved to Barnesville. She had been a member of the Methodist church for more than 50 years, was a charter member of the woman's Missionary society and a member of the Woman's Christian Temperance Union. She suffered a stroke of Paralysis in 1903. Mrs. Lambdin was the step-mother of the late JUDGE WALLACE W. LAMBDIN, noted jurorist, and was the mother of the late Prof. James M. Lamdbin, elected vice- president of Gordan institute shortly before his death. She is survived by her two daughters, Mrs. Pierce Hammond, of Barnesville, and Mrs. Albert s. Hardy of Gainesville.
