Special to The Constitution.
Thomaston, December 12'.-Mr. Jeptha Matthews,who has been sick for some months 
at the residence of Dr. G. W. T. Hannah, of this place, died yesterday 
evening.  Colonel R. K. McCord, a young law student of Quitman, Georgia, who 
has been visiting here, left yesterday for Rome, Georgia.  Captain W. T. 
Hammond, the accommodating conductor of the Upson County railroad, who has been 
off duty for some weeks, is again punching tickets for said road.
