Fitzpatrick McKenzie, was born August 14th, 1836 and died Jan. 15th 1908. She was indeed a mother to us and around her clustered our best wishes. Her going a away [sic] was very unexpected to us. Seemingly in usual health very suddenly she left us, but we believe she is at rest free from sickness, pain and death. We want to emulate her virtues and follow in her footsteps. She lived her three score years and ten. She lived and wrought well. She loved her children and her chiefest desire was to see them happy. She is gone and we miss her so much. Rest on, Dear mother, free from pain and sorrow. 'Tis dark to day to us, but we cherish bright hopes for the morrow. Farewell, Dear Mother, sweet be thy rest. Weary with years, and worn with pain; Farewell till in some happy place We shall behold they face again, 'Tis ours to miss the all our years And tender memories of thee keep. Thine in the Lord to rest, for so He giveth his beloved sleep. Her Daughter Annie.
