Dr. W. A. Means died at his home at Hendricks last Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock. He had been ill for many months and it was known that he could not recover. Dr. Means was one of the most influential citizens of Upson county and had the highest esteem of every one. He was a practicing physician at Hendricks and had been there about twenty years moving from Monroe county to that point. He leaves a wife and daughter to mourn his death. The funeral took place at 4 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. Additional Comments: Dr. William Anderson Means was born 25 January 1849, the son of James Anderson Means and Elizabeth Ann (Allen) Means. He married Susie M. Oxford on 1 February 1872.
