Joe E. Cooksey, 53
Funeral services for Joe E. Cooksey, 53, of Griffin. were held Wednesday, Nov. 
19 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Pittman-Rawls Funeral Home in Griffin.  Rev. 
James Royals and Elder John Hendricks oficiated and interment was in Glenwood 
Cemetery.
Mr. Cooksey died early Tuesday morning, Nov. 18, at Emory University Hospital 
in Atlanta.  He was a native of Upson County who made his home in Griffin for 
the past 26 years, a Marine Corp Veteran, member of the Griffin Moose Lodge and 
a retired Construction Inspector for Dekalb County.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sylvia Pounds Cooksey, two sons;  Bobby 
Cooksey, of Atlanta, and Terry Cooksey of Griffin, his mother, Mrs. Josephine 
Cooksey of Thomaston, and one sister, Miss Evelyn Cooksey of Thomaston.
