Callahan, age 81, of Route 1, Jugtown Road, Meansville, died at the Colosseum Park Hospital in Macon on Wednesday evening, April 9, 1980. Funeral services were held at the Pritchett Memorial Baptist Church at 2 p.m. on Firday, April 11 with the Rev. Steve Blackmon and Rev. Robert Stweart officiating. Inerment was in the South View Cemetery. Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Callahan was a native of Madison, County, Fla., but had lived in Upson County for the past 55 years. He was a retired employee of Thomaston Mills and was a member of Pritchett Memorial Baptist Church and served as a Deacon. He is survived by two daughters; Mrs. Elsie Bloodworth of Thomaston, Miss Eleanor Callahan of Meansville, four sons; Bill Callahan, James Quint Callahan, both of Thomaston, Douglas Callahan of Griffin, Carl (Pete) Callahan of Meansville, two sisters; Mrs. Willie Mae Carmichael and Mrs. Winnie Dover, both of Thomaston, eighteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive.
