Mrs. Hammonds Laid to Rest
Funeral services for Mrs. Alberta Blount Hammonds, 90, were held Wednesday, 
March 4 at 3 o'clock at the New Hope Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Pounce 
Burns and Elder C. J. Benfield officiating.  Burial was in the church cemetery 
with Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
The native Upsonian died Tuesday, March 3 at her home at 576 Andrews Chapel 
Road.  She joined the New Hope Primitive Baptist Church in 1909.
Survivors include three daughters; Mrs. Frankie Tillman and Mrs. Lois Bosdell, 
both of Thomaston, Mrs. Elizabeth Rackley, Statesboro, one son, Joseph 
Hammonds, Thomaston, six grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren also survive.  
Five grandsons and one grandson-in-law served as pallbearers.
