Final rites for John D. Harrell, 90, were held Thursday, March 24 at 2 O'clock
at the Chapel of Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home with Dr. Robert Hoffmann
officiating. Burial was in Upson Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Harrell died Tuesday, March 22 at the Upson County Hospital. He resided at
212 Kingston Road and was a retired employee of the U. S. Postal Service and
the Thomaston Post Office. He retired in 1962. The native Upsonian was a
member of the First Baptist Church and was a member of the Men's Bible Class.
He was a World War 1 veteran and a member of the Pete Thurston American Legion
Post 81.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruth Reeves Harrell, three sons: Robert B.
(Bobby) of Thomaston, W. D. (Billy) of Rockmart, and James W. (Jim) of
Thomaston, one sister, Mrs. Don Mongeon, San Jose, CA., ten grandchildren and
seven great grandchildren.
