Woman kills son, husband and self by Larry Copeland Staff Writer A 38 year old Thomaston, Ga., woman shot and killed her husband and 9 year old son saturday night, fired twice at another son, then fatally shot herself, Upson County authorities said Sunday. Lee Ann Livingston, described by her family and pastor as a deeply religious woman, apparently shot her husband of two decades, Bobby Livingston, 41, in the head with a 38 caliber handgun, said Upson County Sheriff Merrill Greathouse. Mrs. Livingston, who was born and raised in Upson County about 45 miles from Atlanta, then shot her son Benjamin in the chest before entering the bedroom or another son, Joel, and firing at him twice, missing both times, Greathouse said. The sherrif said Mrs. Livingston, who had worked for about three years as a sales clerk at the K-Mart store in Thomaston, then went into her own bedroom and turned the gun on herself. "The ruling right now is that it was apparently a double murder and suicide by Mrs. Livingston," said the sheriff. "This was apparently a domestic (altercation) that has been going on for six months or so...but nothing they ever expected to come to this." Billy Peters, Mrs. Livingston's brother, said Sunday the family was shocked by the slayings and had "no idea of why it happened." But Pauline Williams, Bobby Livingston's mother, said one of her grandsons told her after the shooting that his parents had been "arguing and fussing" for about six months. "He said, 'Mama would shut herself up in her bedroom and wouldn't talk to him (Mr. Livingston). She would just read her Bible." Mrs. Williams said ..."I said, If she had only talked to some of us', but she never talked to me about any of their problems." Mrs. Williams said her son and daughet-in-law had visited her on Saturday and left about 10 p.m. This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/gafiles/ File size: 2.9 Kb
