Virginia Crilley

Mrs. Bessie Britt Lifsey, 81, of Barnesville, died Saturday, Dec. 20, 1986 at 
Northside Hospital in Atlanta.  Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 22 at 
2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church. The Revs. David Neglee and J. U. 
Little officiated.  Burial was held in Greenwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Lifsey was the widow of the late Lester Gerdine Lifsey.  She was a native 
of Dade County, AL, and had been a resident of Barnesville most of her life.  
She was employed  by B. Lloyd's and had been a store clerk and telephone 
operator for Southern Bell.  Mrs. Lifsey was a member of First United Methodist 
Church, Eastern Star, past president of Barnesville Womans Club, a member of 
UDC and past president of American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by two daughters:  Mrs. Elaine Cheatham of Barnesville, and 
Mrs. Geraldine Horton of Griffin, one son Lester G. Lifsey of Barnesville, two 
sisters; Regenia Jester of Kathleen, and Rebecca Brown of Culloden, one 
brother, Mr. Bryant Britt of Barnesville.  Ten grandchildren and fourteen great 
grandchildren also survive.
