Melson, Sr., 85, of Savannah, were held Sunday, February 22 in Savannah. Graveside services to be officiated by Dr. Albert E. Simmons will be announced at a later date. Palsey-Fletcher Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements. A native of Villa Rica, Mr. Melson had been an employee of Callaway Mills of LaGrange, and U.S. Tire and Rubber Company of Detroit as Manager of the fabric Department. In 1942 he returned to Georgia as manager of the Georgia State Employment Service in the Savannah District, and retired as supervisor of the Southeast Georgia District in 1961. He was a graduate of Clemson College and the widower of the late Louise Hannah Melson. Mr. Melson is survived by one son, Holland R.
