Virginia Crilley

Mr. Ernest C. Meeks, 70, of 1401 Atwater Road, Thomaston, died Sunday night, 
April 4, 1982 at the Upson County Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 6, at 2 p.m. in the Valley Grove 
Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Cobb officiating and the Rev. Clifford 
Bradshaw and the Rev. Ed Sisson assisting.  Palsey-Fletcher Funeral Home will 
be in charge of the arrangements.  Interment will be in Valley Grove Cemetery.
A native of Upson County, Mr. Meeks was a retired wholesale grocery salesman 
having represented City Wholesale and the H.V. Kell Company.  He was a member 
of Morning Star Lodge No. 27, F&AM and a deacon and Sunday School teacher at 
the Valley Grove Baptist Chruch.
Mr. Meeks is survived by his wife, Mrs. Agnes Mahaffey Meeks, Thomaston, three 
sons;  Mr. Billy Meeks, Thomaston, Mr. Michael T. Meeks, Warner Robins, and Mr. 
James Meeks, Thomaston.  Seven grandchildren also survive.
