Fletcher dorothy010@ameritech.net August 25, 2003, 4:50 pm Virginia Crilley Mrs. Sarah Fallin Miller Mount Vernon----Mrs. Sarah Fallin Miller, age 50, of Mount Vernon died recently at Wheeler County Hospital in Glenwood after several weeks of illness. Mrs. Miller was the wife of Dr. Starr Miller, president of Brewton-Parker College in Mount Vernon, and a native of Thomaston. She was well-known through the Georgia Baptist Converntion because of her work in Baptist Women's activities. She was a former alumnae secretary of Tiff College and a former educational secretary of First Baptist Church in Edgefield, S.C. She was also a former state chairwoman for Baptist Women of the Womans's Missionary Union of Georgia. Before she and Dr. Miller came to Brewton-Parker she was active in youth and music activities at First Baptist Church of Statesboro. She had also been a soloist for the Statesboro First Baptist Church choir. She is survived by her husband Dr. Starr Miller of Mount Vernon, one daughter, Mrs. Steve Stokes of Athens, Ga., and one son, Charles Miller of Mount Vernon, Ga. Other survivors include three sisters; Mrs. Herman Gibson, and Mrs. Grady Vining of Thomaston, and Mrs. Charles Hardage of Griffin. Eight brothers: Wilson Fallin of Milledgeville, Moses Fallin of Macon, and Harvey Fallin, Melvin Fallin, Paul Fallin, Fred Fallin, Arthur Fallin and Theo Fallin all of Thomaston. The family request that is lieu of flowers that memorials be sent to be used in the fine arts program at Brewton-Parker College according to the wishes of Mrs. Miller. Trustees of Brewton-Parker served as honorary pallbearers. Funeral services were Tuesday, Sept. 23 at First Baptist Church in Statesboro with burial in Statesboro.
