Fletcher doroth010@ameritech.net September 22, 2003, 6:01 am Virginia Crilley Mr. Ira Lawson Ellington, Jr. Mr. Ira Lawson Ellington, Jr., 58, of 107 Avenue H, died Wednesday, March 31, 1982 at the Upson County Hospital. Funeral services were held Thursday, April 1, in the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Tatum officiating. Coggins Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Interment was in Southview Cemetery. Mr. Ellington had lived in Upson County all his life. He was an employee of the Thomaston Mills, Thomaston Division and a veteran of World War 11 serving in the U.S. Army. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Celestine Ellington, one son, Ronald Ellington, five brothers; Orman Ellington, Henry Ellington, Fred Ellington, Johnny Paul Ellington, all of Thomaston, Travis Ellington of Tennessee, three sisters; Mrs. Vada Donahoo, Mrs. Betty Coventree both ot Thomaston, Mrs. Ruth Colts of Columbus, and one half-sister, Mrs. Myrtle Childree of Thomaston.
