Ira L. Ellington, Sr.
Thomaston---Death claimed Ira Lawson Ellington, Sr., age 87, of 119 3rd St., on 
Tuesday morning at the Heritage Nursing home in Barnesville.  Funeral services 
are scheduled for Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home 
Chapel with the Rev. L. E. Smith officiating.  Burial will be in Southview 
Cemetery.
Mr. Ellington was a native Upsonian.  He was a retired farmer.
He is survived by four daughters'  Mrs. Myrtle Childlree, Mrs. Vada Dunahoo, 
and Mrs. Betty Covington, all of Thomaston, and Mrs. Ruth Coulter, Columbus, 
six sons;  Ormand Ellington, Ira L. Ellington, Jr., Travis Ellington, Henry 
Ellington, Fred Ellington and Johnny Paul Ellington, all of Thomaston, a 
sister, Mrs. Effie Thompson, Thomaston, 24 grandchildren also survive.
