Virginia Crilley

Rufus Gilber, 89
Rufus Gilber, 89, of 2037 Jeff Davis Road, died Monday evening, December 29, at 
the Upson County Hospital.  He was a native of Upson County, who was a retired 
farmer and a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church.  Mr. Gilbert was also a 
former Justice of the Peace and a Veteran of World War 1.
Mr. Gilbert is survived by his wife, Mrs. Maggie C. Gilbert, one daughter, Mrs. 
Joyce Holland, of Jonesboro, three sons;  Gene Gilbert of Thomaston, Admiral 
Marshall Gilbert of Arlington, Virginia, and Lt. Colonel (Retired) Ray Gilbet 
of Alexandria, Virginia, and one sister, Mrs. Mattie Belle Hall of Savannah.  
Eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral servives will be held Wednesday, December 31 at 2:oo p.m. in Valley 
Grove Baptist Church.  Rev. Clifford Bradshaw and Rev. Ed Sisson will officiate 
and interment will be in Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery.  Pasley-
Fletcher Funeral Home is in charge fo the arrangements.
