Cheif Henry L. James

Virginia Beach, Va.---Death claimed Chief Henry L. James, age 42, of the U. S. 

Navy in Virginia Beach, Va., on Sunday.  He died in active service after 22 

years with the U. S. Navy.  Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday at 11 

a.m. from the New Harmony Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Akins and the 

Rev. W. H. Thompson officiating.  Burial will be in New Harmony Baptist Church 

Cemetery with Coggins Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ima Jean James, Virginia Beach, Va., two 

daughters;  Miss Judy James and Mrs. Janet Perkins, both of Virginia Beach, 

Va., two sons;  P.F.C. Leonard Hawkins, Fort Bragg, N. C., and Tony James, 

Virginia Beach, Va., a brother, Shelly James, Thomaston, and two sisters;  Mrs. 

Myrtle Scofield, Quincey, Fla., and Mrs. Kathleen Thompson, Phenix City, Ala.
