Final Rites for J. C. Colwell, 76
Funeral services for Joseph Clifford (J. C.) Colwell, Sr., 76 year old retired 
businessman, were held Saturday, January 1, 1983, at 2 o'clock from the Chapel 
of Coggins Funeral Home with Rev. John Smith officiating.  Burial was in South 
View Cemetery.
Mr. Colwell died Thursday, December 30 at the Upson County Hospital.  He 
resided at 248 Fallin Street and was a retired automobile and oil businessman.  
Mr. Colwell formerly owned and operated Colwell's Motor Cout.  He was a native 
and former resident of Pike County and resided in Upson County for the past 35 
years.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Evelyn Colwell, two daughters, Mrs. C. W. 
Anderson, Dublin, Mrs. Hollis Bankston, Griffin, two sons;  Charlie Colwell, 
Thomaston, J. C. Colwell, Jr., Zebulon;  four sisters; Mrs. Laura Willis, 
Augusta, Mrs. Rosa Lawrence, Ocala, FL., Mrs. Mable Fink, Covington, Mrs. Judy 
Fields, Daytona Beach, FL.  Sixteen(16) grandchildren, and nineteen (19) great 
grandchildren also survive.
