For Mr. Glanton, 78
Funeral services for Emory Newton (Slick) Glanton, 78, were held Thursday, July 
14 at the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home with Rev. Don Howell and Rev. Billy R. 
Heston officiating.  Burial was in South View Cemetery.
Mr. Glanton died Tuesday, July 12.  He resided at 2004 Hendricks Church Road 
and was a prison guard at the Upson County Corectional Institution.
The native Upsonian is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ruby Glanton, Thomaston, 
three daughters;  Mrs. Fay Perry, Mrs. Harriet Smith and Mrs. Teresa Harrison, 
all of Thomaston, one son, Wesley Glanton, Thomaston, one half-brother, Bennie 
Rogers, Keystone, FL, five half-sisters:  Mrs. Rosebud Thomas, Jacksonville, 
Fl., Mrs. Vivian Martin, Thomaston, Mrs. Lucinda Barnes, Lou Martin, Atlanta, 
Mrs. Louise Terkewrst, Marietta,  fifteen grandchildren and six great 
grandchildren also survive.
