Page On the morn of August 29th, 1925, the death angel came and bore away the spirit of Mr. W.C. Page to that great beyond. Uncle Bill, as he was familiarly known, was about eighty years of age. He had been in bad health for sometime and the end was not unexpected. 'Tis hard to think we will never see his face or hear his gentle voice again, but we weep not at those without hope, for we believe he is now sleeping in Jesus until the resurrection morn when he will rise singing praises to god. Uncle Bill was an old Confederate Veteran and it was one of his greatest delights to have a number of children gathered around him, amusing them with war tales which he would repeat over & over. He had lived for the last sixteen months at the Old Soldiers Home in Atlanta, He had never united with any church but firmly believed in the primitive Baptist. After the funeral services by Rev. Richardson, his body was laid to rest in Goodhope Cemetery by the side of his wife who preceded him to the grave a number of years ago. He leaves one brother, Mr. J. H. Page of Thomaston together with a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his loss. Yet we hope to meet thee when the days of life have fled. Then with the joy in Heaven will greet thee, where no farewell tears are shed. One who loved him, W. T. Hall William C. Page- Good Hope Cemetery 1845- 1925
