Peterman, age 78, died May 18, 1985 Thomaston Times, Monday, May 20, 1985: Wonzie J. Peterman Mr. Wonzie J. Peterman, 78, of 228 Fourth Ave. died Saturday afternoon, May 18, 1985, at Emory University Hospital of Atlanta. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, May 20, in the chapel of Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home with Elder Cecil Darity and Elder Ed Evans officiating. Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Burial was in Mount Olive Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery in Taylor County, near Reynolds. A native of Taylor County, Mr. Peterman had been a resident of Upson County for 53 years and retired as a section man from the Martha Mills Division of BFGoodrich Co. in 1969 and was a member of Emmaus Primitive Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lena Oliver Peterman, of Thomaston; one daughter, Mrs. Fairy Peterman Davis of Decatur; two sisters, Mrs. Maude Windham of Thomaston, Mrs. Edith Mathews of Griffin; two brothers, Mr. Troy Peterman and Mr. Gordon Peterman, both of Thomaston. Four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.
