Stamps.--Bro. Stamps was born in Oglethorpe County, on the 12th of Oct., 1815.  

He joined Clouds Creek Baptist Church in his 12th year, was baptized by Elder 
Frank Callaway in 1829.  He was married to Miss Annie K. Richardson early in 
life.

He departed this life on the 13th of January 1891, 76 years, 3 months and 1 day 
old.  He was a gentleman of the highest order and an every day Christian, was 
clerk of this church for many years.  He loved the church of Christ, when able 
was always at his church meetings.  We feel the loss of our Bro. but our loss 
is his gain.  May we follow him as he followed his Lord and Master.  Blessed 
are the dead that die in the Lord.

Resolved.  1.  That this preamble and these resolutions be entered on the 
minutes of the church book and a blank page be left for the birth, name and 
death of Bro. Stamps.
2. That we tender our love and sympathy to the family and relations of our Bro. 
and that a copy of these resolutions be sent by the clerk to the Christian 
Index and Thomaston Times for publication.
