Sanders passed away at his residence Monday morning March 27th 1933 following a few days if illness. He was born Feb. 6th 1874, the son of the LATE Julius C. and Francis E, Poppin Sanders, also natives of Upson Co. He was known as "Uncle Walt". Other than his widow who was Maddie J. Stewart before their marriage, he is survived by only two brothers, Messers Julius Thos., and James Sanders of Yatesville. The funeral was held Tuesday morning at Grace Church with Elder S. H. Whatley and Elder W.W. Childs officiating. Members of Thomaston and East Thomaston F. A. M. Lodges served as pallbearers and as honorary escort. The Interment was held in Glenwood. Notes- Glenwood Cemetery- Family Plot His Wife died 3 days after he did & was laid to rest beside him. ============ Sanders Mrs. Madie Jackson Sanders, widow of the late Mr. Walter Sanders passed away at her residence Thursday afternoon, March 30, 1933, following her husband to his final rest only three days after he departed. She was a faithful member of Grace Primitive Baptist Church. She was born April 2, 1875, in Upson Co, daughter of the LATE William and Virginia Elizabeth Gibson Stewart, also pioneer citizens of Upson. She leaves three sisters, Mrs. Lula (T.B.) Trice, Mrs. Josephine (W.J.) Watson and Mrs. Ella (J. H.) Trice all of Thomaston, and three brothers, Messers W. Thos. Stewart of Thomaston, David C. and Albert Stewart both of Texas. The funeral was held at Grace Church Friday afternoon with Elder S. H. Whatley and Elder W. W. Childs officiating. The interment was held in the family lot in Glenwood Cemetery with her eight nephews at pall bearers.
