J. P. Slaughter Is Claimed By Death
J. P. (Tuck) Slaughter, 50 years of age, died Monday at
noon after a long illness and funeral services will be
held Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. from Zion Chapel Church with
the Rev. Clyde Lancaster officiating.  Interment will be
in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Upson county and is survived by his
wife, one, son, Wynton Slaughter, two sisters, Mrs.
Martie Mauldin, all of Thomaston and Mrs. Mary Johnson of
LaGrange; one brother, Jack Slaughter of Thomaston.

Pasley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. ("will
be held" probably should have read "was held" due to date
of death and date of paper.) John Perry (Tuck) Slaughter
b. Feb. 20, 1898 d. Aug. 9, 1948 He was the husband of
Mary Annie DANIEL SLAUGHTER.

February 27, 1991:

Mrs. Mary Slaughter

Mrs. Mary Slaughter, 87, of Providence Nursing Home died
Monday, Feb. 25, 1991.  Funeral services were held
Wednesday, Feb. 27 at the Zion Chapel Methodist Church.

The Rev. Ed Pitts officiated.  Interment was in the Zion
Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery.  Coggins Funeral Home
was in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by her son, Mr. W. H. Slaughter along
with one grandchild and two great-grandchildren. Mary
Annie DANIEL SLAUGHTER b. June 3, 1903 d. February 25,
1991.

Her parents buried at Shiloh Baptist Church in Upson
County, Georgia.  She is the daughter of  Lizzie Henry
DOWNS Daniel b. August 20, 1874 d. July 22, 1945 and
Lennie Edward DANIEL b. August 26, 1876 d. November 9,
1949. She was the wife of John Perry (Tuck) SLAUGHTER.
