       Death Takes Pioneer Upson County Citizen

Mr. R. A. Williams, age 72, died at his residence
near Roland, about six miles west of Thomaston,
Saturday night, April 2.

Funeral services were held Monday morning at 11
o'clock at Fellowship Chruch by Rev. J. G. Logan and
Elder S. H. Whately, and interment was made in the
churchyard cemetery.


He is survived by his widow; three daughers, Mrs. C.
A. Ferguson and Mrs. Andrews Richardson of Thomaston
and Mrs. Sam Hendricks of Manchester; two sons,
Capers Williams and Kyle Williams and ten
grandchildren.

Mr. Williams had been a member of Bethany Methodist
Church near Crest since early manhood.  He was a
valuable and substantial citizen, a kindly and good
man, and his going saddens the hearts of his many
Upson county firends who extend their sympathy to
his bereaved ones.
