HEZEKIAH McDANIEL 
& 
MATILDA MARTIN McDANIEL 
 
Hezekiah was born in Talbot County, Georgia on January 9, 1842, 
and died in Upson County, Georgia on February 7, 1925. 
Matilda was born in Talbot County, Georgia on June 6, 1837, 
and died in Upson County, Georgia on December 4, 1931. 

They were married on January 6, 1867 in Talbot County, Georgia. 

Hezekiah served as a Private in Company E, 
45th Regiment Georgia Volunteer Infantry 
Army of Northern Virginia, C.S.A 
Taylor Volunteers 
Enlisted: March 4, 1862 
Retired: February 1865 

In June 1862 (Seven Days Fight of Frasers Farm) he was wounded in the left 
eye by a buck shot which entirely destroyed the sight and in May 1864 
(Battle of the Wilderness) was wounded in the right leg below the knee which 
resulted in amputation of the leg below the knee.
