The records show that Asbuy Withers, private, 2nd Co D (also known as 1st Confederate Reg. Georgia Vols) enlisted May 1,1862, and that he was killed in the Battle of Missionary Ridge Nov 25 1863. Additional Comments: This family also spelled their name Weathers. Asbury was the son of Hartwell and Mary Black Weathers.
