To the Honorable Court of Ordinary of Said County The petition of Mrs. M. J. Colquitt respectfully showeth that W. E. Colquitt late of said County, departed this life on the 27” day of May 1892, leaving your petitioner, his widow, and 2 minor children surviving him, and she prays your Honorable Court in conformity with the statute in such case made and provided, to appoint five discreet and proper persons to act as appraisers in setting apart to your petitioner and her two minor children, is aforesaid, the sum necessary in their judgment for support and maintenance for the space of twelve months from the death of the said W. E. Colquitt of your petitioner and her children, either in money or such property as may be selected by your petitioner at a fair valuation to be made by said appraisers. And also, to set apart a sufficient amount of household furniture for the use of your petitioner and her children. And, further, to require a set of appraisers to return to you for record their proceedings. And your petitioner will ever pray, & petitioner further shows that there is no administration on said estate. M. J. Colquitt deceased, for the appointment of appraisers to set apart to said widow and her two minor children, a sum necessary for their support and maintenance for the space of twelve months out of the estate of the said W. E. Colquitt deceased, and also, to set apart for the use of said widow and children a sufficient amount of household furniture. It is ordered that John M. Catlett, J. R. Tyner, W. G. Carroll, D. Carroll and W. A. Reaves J. P. Be and they are hereby appointed appraisers, and they, or a majority of them, are hereby empowered to set off and assign to the said M. J. Colqutt widow of W. E. Colquitt deceased, late of said county, and her two minor children, out of the estate of said deceased, a sum necessary for the support and maintenance of said widow and children for the space of twelve months; and, also, a sufficient amount of household furniture for the use of said widow and children. And the said sum so set apart as aforesaid to be either in money or such property as the said widow may select, at a fair valuation, to be made by said appraisers. Further ordered, that said appraisers returned to me for record all their proceedings in the premises. Given under my hand and official signature, this eighth day of August 1892 W. B. E. Colquitt deceased, for the space of twelve months, either in money or such property as said widow may select, do report, that we have assessed and set apart as being necessary for the support and maintenance of said widow and children the sum of $350.00 -Three hundred & fifty Dollars, which the said widow has selected to take as follows: And we set apart the following household furniture for use of said widow and children: Such house hole furniture as is being in house at present. Colquitt deceased, the provision allowed by law, being & it further appearing that citation issued & published in the terms of law read, and the Court being satisfied that the same is in due form, and properly made, it is ordered that the same be admitted to record, and stand as judgment of the Court.
