Georgia Walton County

This Indenture made and entered into this 1st day of January Eighteen 
Hundred and thirty Nine between Hampton W. Hill admr on the Estate of 
James Cheeves decd of the one part of Troup County and State aforesaid 
and Jacob Calahan of the County of Walton & State aforesaid of the 
other part. Witnesseth that the Said Hampton W. Hill for and in 
consideration of the sum of Five hundred Dollars to him in hand paid at 
and before the delivery and sealing of these presents the receipt 
whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted bargained, sold and 
conveyed: and by these presents do grant bargain Sell and convey unto 
the said Jacob Calahan his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel 
of land Situate, lying and being in the county of Walton and State 
aforesaid, known and distinguished as lot Number thirty six (36) in the 
Second (2nd) District of said County containing Two Hundred & Fifty 
acres more or less, where on the Said James Cheeves last lived and 
died, To have and to hold said Land & premises unto him the Said Jacob 
Calahan his heirs & assigns in fee Simple and the Said Hampton W. Hill 
admr as aforesaid to the Said Calahan, his heirs & assigns will forever 
warrant and defend the  right & title of said Land and premises against 
the claim of himself and all persons whatever as admr aforesaid hath 
hereunto set his hand and affixed his Seal the day & year above 
written.
