Witnesseth that the said Bird Smith for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred Dollars to him in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant, bargain and sell unto the said Epophroditas Porter his heirs and assigns all that tract or lot of land lying in the ninth District known in the plan of said District by lot No. Four hundred & nine also the East half of lot No. three hundred and ninety three in the said ninth District of formerly Henry but now Walton. To have and to hold said tracts or parcels of land unto herin the said Epophroditus Porter his heirs & assigns together with all and singular the rights members & appurtenances thereof to the same in any manner belonging to his and their own proper use benefit and behoof forever in fee simple and the said Bird Smith for himself, his heirs and assigns the said bargained premises unto the said Epophroditus Porter his heirs and assigns will warrant and forever defend the right and title thereof against themselves & against the claims of all other persons whatsoever. In witness whereof the said Bird Smith hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year above written. In presence of Bird Smith seal Samuel Broadnax John Loyall J.P.
