Bledsoe Land Lot 162 First District Walton, now Newton Written: February 9, 1831 Recorded: September 13, 1831 Georgia Newton Co.} This Indenture made this ninth day of February in the year of Our Lord Eighteen hundred and thirty one between Alexander Wallace of the one part and Thomas W. Bledsoe of the other part and both of the county and state aforeaid Witneseth that for and in coniderration of the sum of Two hundred and fifty five cents to the said Alexander Wallace in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of thee present the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hat granted bargained sold and conveyed and by thee presents doth grant bargain sell and convey unto the said Thomas W. Bledose hi heirs and assign a part of that lot of land situate lyieing and being in the first district Walton now Newton County Containing Eighty five and one fourth acres which said lot of land (162) was drawn by the Orphans of Daniel Malone beginnin at the northwest corner of said lot running thence notheast sixteen chain to the original corner thence running north west to the beginning corner.. To have and to hold the aforesaid land and premise unto him the said Thomas W. Bledsoe his heirs and assign together with and singular the rights members and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywie appertaining to his own proper use and benefit and behoof forever in fee Simple and the said Alexander Wallace for himself his heirs Executors and Administrators the said bargained premise unto the said Thomas W. Bledsoe hi heirs and assigns will warrant and forever defend the right and titile thereof against himself against the claims of all other persons whatsoever. pg. 133 In testimony whereof the said Alexander Wallace hath hereunto set his hand and affixed h is seal the day and year first above written. Artemisser Malone 12 May 1830 Newton Co., Ga. In 1840 they resided in Benton Co., Alabama In 1850 they resided in Tallapoosa Co., Alabama In 1860 they resided in Mobile Co., Alabama In 1870 Alex has died and Artemissa as Melissa, resided in Copiah Co., Ms. In 1880 Artemissa resided in Copiah Co., Ms. with grandsons Reid and Vickery Her brother, Miranda Clinton Malone sold his lot to Solomon Graves (portion of same lot 162 above. Her sister, Dolly's lot was sold by their Uncle, Micajah Sansom Jr. It was property of Jeptha and Dolly sold in a Superior Court deed. Reason unknown but was the last 1/3 division of the same lot 162. Daniel Malone was severely injured in a skirmish with the Indians reported in an newspaper article, while serving in Jenkins Vol. Militia, a Greene Co., Ga. unit, about 1813. He died by 1819 when the land lottery draw was drawn. He witnessed a deed for his brother-in-law, Micajah Sansom, Jr. in 1817 in Jasper Co., Ga. (Deed between Micajah Sansom and a James Pridgeon. Other witness John Fowler, husband of a Mourning Rowden Fowler).
