G. Glass, who resides on Davis Street, this city, told Chief of Police B. C. Dickinson that she had a quilt she wished to present to President Roosevelt. Chief Dickinson commended the idea, and wrote a nice letter for Mrs. Glass to the President, stating that the quilt had been sent and expressing the hope that he might find it of service. A few days ago Mrs. Glass received the following letter of acknowledgement from Grace Tully, Private Secretary to the President: “My Dear Mrs. Glass: It was kind indeed of you to send the President the quilt to which you refer in your letter of September 11th. He deeply appreciated your friendly thought in wanting him to have this product of your own work and I have pleasure in conveying his every good wish to you.” Sincerely Yours, Grace G. Tully The Tribune is told that Mrs. Glass’ quilt was a lovely specimen and that she worked on it at odd times for two years or more. Additional Comments: The person is not related to me.
